Cursor fad
I've been a user and developer of web stuff since 1995. I've seen all of the fads come and go. Right now I'm looking for a couple of small creative agencies to work with and so am visiting lots of agency websites to see if there's a potential fit.
There seems to be a fad of replacing the cursor with some form of circle motif that leaves a trail.
My message to the creatives doing this: "you may be an expert in branding or design but as an expert web user I can tell you that it adds nothing to my experience and is annoying. If you are doing it for mobile users then make it work just for mobiles".
